Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Sabanov!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ayres tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sabanov swivels and escapes.
Ayres lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Sabanov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ayres tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sabanov is in Ayres's guard.
Sabanov stands up over Ayres, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Sabanov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sabanov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sabanov is working for a kimura but Ayres is defending it quite comfortably.

Sabanov is looking to take a break and control but Ayres is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ayres on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ayres tries to get out of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ayres is looking for a sweep. Sabanov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ayres tries to control but Sabanov manages to take his back.

Let's hope that Sabanov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Sabanov sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Ayres taps out!
