Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tj Pen (ranked 2778 p4p, 4713 weight class) and Peter Ross (ranked 371 p4p, 550 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tj Pen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Ross! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ross sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ross tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Pen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ross is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pen scores with a couple of nice shots. Pen throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ross to regain full guard. Pen scoring with some ground and pound. Pen wants to control from the top but Ross keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pen throwing strikes but missing. Ross is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pen defends well. Pen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ross on the ground. Pen stands up over Ross, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Pen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pen scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pen postures up in Ross's guard and throws a big left but Ross blocks it. Pen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ross has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pen cracks Ross with a solid left hand. Pen scores with a decent looking elbow strike. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pen scoring with punches to the head and body. Pen trying to control the position from guard on top but Ross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Pen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pen throws an elbow that misses. Ross uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pen's guard. Nice move by Ross! Ross won't allow Pen to sweep him here. Pen has Ross pulled in close to control his posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pen wants to sweep here but Ross controlling him for the moment. Ross thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Pen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ross is one step ahead there. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Pen is working hard here to advance position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nice sprawl there from Ross as Pen shoots in. Ross with the counter takedown but Pen avoids it easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tj Pen will probably get the nod. That's time! Pen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Pen shoots for a double leg takedown but Ross sprawls well. He's pushed Pen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. And Ross tries to counter it with a takedown but Pen pushes his down on his head and steps out. Tj Pen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pen tries for a takedown but Ross circles away easily and Ross counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ross. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ross postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ross, into his guard.
Ross is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Pen has his hands clasped together but Ross extends and breaks Pen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ross.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Peter Ross! Jumping up and down and very excited, Peter Ross waved his t-shirt featuring KOMBAT KLOTHING's logo in front of the cameras.
