Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brubeck Knox (ranked 23531 p4p, 3256 weight class) and Onterrio Smith (ranked 625 p4p, 0 weight class). Onterrio Smith told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brubeck Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Onterrio Smith!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a body shot but no joy.
Knox scores with a decent looking hook.
It looks like Onterrio Smith has been cut.
Knox lands with a straight right. Smith didn't see that one coming.
Smith throws the left hand but Knox avoids the punch easily.
Knox throws a good cross that connects.
Smith throws a nice outside leg kick.

Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Knox throws out the jab.

Smith has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Knox shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith throws a series of punches but Knox moves out of range.

Knox has been working on his balance at Canadian Combat Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Smith.

Smith dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smith paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Smith lands with an overhand left.
Smith goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Smith tries to land a front kick but Knox steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Smith throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Knox misses with a wild body shot.
A little jabbing left from Smith on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Smith throws a head kick but Knox moves out of range.

Knox doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Smith bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Knox throws a hook but Smith blocks it.

Knox moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Smith lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Knox throws a hook but Smith blocks it.
Knox is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Knox throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Smith walks into a left hand.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A little feinted left hand from Knox on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

A nice leg kick from Smith, right into the meat of the thigh.
Smith slips under a jab from Knox.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Knox lands a head shot.
Knox misses the jab.
Knox looks to land a left hand but Smith moved out of range nicely.
Smith takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Smith moves out of range as Knox strikes.
Knox misses with a looping left.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knox.

Knox loads up on a big right hand but Smith slips the punch.
Smith throws a wild body kick that Knox sees coming a mile off.

Knox rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Smith counters with a stiff right hand.
Knox misses with a series of wild punches.
Knox swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Smith let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Knox throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.

Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Knox moves out of range easily.
Knox swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Knox misses with a straight left.
Smith throws a shot to the body.
Knox is breathing heavily.
Knox shoots and misses
and Smith counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brubeck Knox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Knox right on the button. Knox goes down! Smith follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Smith gets the win via TKO!

A very excited looking Onterrio Smith made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
