Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brenton Sanders (ranked 4013 p4p, 4221 weight class) and Jonathan Liddell (ranked 217 p4p, 228 weight class). Brenton Sanders could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jonathan Liddell's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenton Sanders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jonathan Liddell! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Liddell misses with an uppercut
and Sanders counters with a right hand to the body. Liddell misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Liddell does no damage. Sanders throwing a counter right hand but Liddell manages to avoid it. Sanders has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) in the buildup to the fight. Liddell thuds his shin into the meat of Sanders's side. Sanders moves into the clinch. Sanders trying to control the position but instead, Liddell has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sanders into the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Sanders leaning his opponent against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanders prevents Liddell from breaking the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sanders has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Sanders misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Liddell.
Liddell throws a knee to the head but misses.

Sanders with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. The referee calls for Sanders to work.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Brenton Sanders. Liddell throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sanders counters with a stiff right hand. Sanders closes the distance and clinches. Liddell tries to land a knee to the head but Sanders blocks with his arms.

Liddell wants to break free but Sanders has control.

A body shot lands from Sanders.
Liddell is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Sanders is defending well for now.

Liddell lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Sanders or not. Sanders displaying some good clinch control by pressing Liddell up against the cage. Liddell has had enough of the clinch but Sanders keeps him there for the moment. A head punch blocked on the inside by Liddell. Liddell stalling in the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sanders misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Liddell.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanders struggles to land a body shot inside as Liddell controls his hands.
Liddell has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Sanders seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Liddell can turn it around. Sanders tries to work over Liddell's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A short right hand to the side of the head by Liddell. Liddell connects with a nasty looking knee right to Sanders's face.

Sanders is trying to maintain a safe position but Liddell gets an underhook and turns Sanders into the cage. Sanders lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Liddell to his knees! Sanders keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brenton Sanders! A less than humble Brenton Sanders misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
