Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Clark (ranked 21921 p4p, 22572 weight class) and Apostolos Angelopoulos (ranked 199 p4p, 214 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Apostolos Angelopoulos!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark misses with a takedown attempt - Angelopoulos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Angelopoulos misses with a two punch combination.
Angelopoulos connects with the punch.
Angelopoulos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Angelopoulos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Angelopoulos throws a head kick but Clark moves out of range.
Clark shoots in but Angelopoulos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Clark dives in and grabs Angelopoulos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Angelopoulos pushes down on Clark's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wesley Clark. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Clark moves out of range of the body kick.
Clark swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Clark closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Angelopoulos's guard.

Angelopoulos has his foot on Clark's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clark works his way back into a safe position though.

Clark got a little sloppy there for a moment and Angelopoulos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Clark has managed to get both his arms back between Angelopoulos's legs - danger averted.
Clark will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Clark connects with a nice short shot to Angelopoulos's temple.
