Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Chan (ranked 856 p4p, 1885 weight class) and Don Barnes (ranked 121 p4p, 250 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barnes's waist but Barnes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chan off to one side.
Barnes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Chan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barnes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Chan. Chan obviously looking to wear him down.
Chan misses with an uppercut. Barnes saw that one coming.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

It looked like Chan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Charlie Chan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chan throws a series of strikes that have Barnes backpedaling.
Barnes throws the left hand but Chan avoids the punch easily.
Barnes lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Barnes scores with a one two! Chan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Chan ducks right into an uppercut from Barnes.
No joy there for Barnes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Chan works over Barnes's head and body with a nice combination.

Barnes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chan is fending him off so far but Barnes persists. Nope, Chan circles away and we're back to standing.

Barnes with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Chan to score with a decent uppercut.

Barnes lands a nice looking kick to the body. Chan takes a step back to recover.

The fighters circling - Chan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Barnes tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Chan fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Barnes counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Chan!

Chan is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Barnes scores with a couple of nice shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barnes seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Barnes in particular looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Barnes is keen to just control but Chan is a slippery customer.

Barnes is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Chan, as that shot connected.

Barnes lands a leg kick that knocks Chan off balance momentarily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Don Barnes will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Chan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Chan is refusing to be controlled, as Barnes sits in half guard.
Barnes is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Chan reverses the position - he's now on top in Barnes's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Chan stands and steps away. Barnes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Barnes lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Chan swings for the body but Barnes moves out of range.
Barnes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Barnes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Charlie Chan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Chan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Chan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barnes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chan throws a hook to the side of Barnes's head but Barnes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Barnes throws a leg kick which misses Chan's front leg but catches the back leg as Chan tries to avoid it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charlie Chan.
I think Barnes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
