Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Holloway (ranked 229 p4p, 185 weight class) and Vinnie Pellegrini (ranked 31 p4p, 27 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Vinnie Pellegrini was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Holloway!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vinnie Pellegrini!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holloway moves into range and clinches up with Pellegrini.
Holloway misses with a punch to the body.
Holloway lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Pellegrini crunches a lovely knee into Holloway's ribcage.

Holloway tries to throw a body punch but Pellegrini avoids it by throwing Holloway back against the cage.
We've been informed that Pellegrini has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

And Pellegrini responds with a good body kick, but Holloway manages to step out the way in time.

Holloway throws a hook to the side of Pellegrini's head but Pellegrini sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A nice leg kick from Pellegrini, right into the meat of the thigh.
Holloway tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pellegrini was well out of range. Poor timing from Holloway.
A nice side step and Pellegrini releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Sloppy strikes from Pellegrini. Those never looked like landing.

Pellegrini is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Holloway.

Pellegrini dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Holloway drops his hands momentarily and Pellegrini takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

A quick step to the side and Holloway tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Pellegrini counters with a straight right hand.
Holloway lands a right hook to the body.
Pellegrini avoids the body shot from Holloway.
Holloway throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pellegrini on the side of the head.
Pellegrini misses with a looping right.
Holloway tries a head kick but it misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Pellegrini lands a really nice looking cross but Holloway seems unphased.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Pellegrini. Holloway shrugs it off though.
Pellegrini lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Holloway circles away quickly and effectively.
Holloway throws a right hand that Pellegrini ducks under and follows up with a left that Pellegrini also avoids with ease.

Holloway throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Holloway misses with a body punch
and Pellegrini counters with a series of strikes. Holloway will be more careful next time no doubt.
Oh Holloway is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pellegrini drops Holloway with a straight right hand, right on the button! Pellegrini follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vinnie Pellegrini!

After winning the bout, Vinnie Pellegrini thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
