Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Armad Bates (ranked 848 p4p, 4506 weight class) and Brutalis Rhino (ranked 119 p4p, 512 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Armad Bates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brutalis Rhino!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rhino quickly recovers to half guard.
Rhino has one foot on Bates's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Bates ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rhino misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bates shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rhino is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bates wants to control but Rhino is keeping him busy.
Bates is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rhino doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bates.
Bates wants to pass to mount but Rhino is defending the position.

Bates wants to take a breather but Rhino is having none of it.

Rhino is trying to control but can't.
Rhino is staying active underneath Bates, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rhino trying to get back to full guard but Bates takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Rhino is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Bates gets his way!
Bates is looking to control Rhino but Rhino is wriggling around and keeping busy.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bates is looking for a choke. Rhino gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Rhino manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Bates throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rhino escapes and throws Bates's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bates can't do much from the bottom here.
Bates tries to buck Rhino off but Rhino is having none of it.

Rhino lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Bates taking punishment in the form of punches.
Bates takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Bates is not content to let Rhino control the position.
Rhino throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Bates tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rhino wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bates wants to control but Rhino postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bates prevents Rhino from improving position.
Bates is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Rhino controlling the action here.
Bates regains full guard. Nicely done.
We've been informed that Rhino has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Rhino works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bates tries to get to full guard but Rhino has control of the leg.
Rhino slips a nice elbow through Bates's hands, connecting with Bates's forehead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rhino is keen to just control but Bates is a slippery customer.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brutalis Rhino dominated that round.
That's time! Bates's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rhino throws a head kick that misses.
Bates bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bates wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rhino keeps working.
Bates tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Rhino is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rhino is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bates's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Bates! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Rhino has tapped! This one is allllll over!
