Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scott Armstrong (ranked 3200 p4p, 1903 weight class) and Hoosein Abdul (ranked 313 p4p, 200 weight class). Hoosein Abdul will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Armstrong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hoosein Abdul! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Armstrong pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Abdul throws a series of punches but Armstrong moves out of range. Abdul changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Armstrong tries to avoid it but Abdul manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Armstrong to the ground. Armstrong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Armstrong lands with a hook. Abdul tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Armstrong digs a good body shot into Abdul's ribs. Abdul pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Armstrong dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hoosein Abdul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Abdul misses with an uppercut. Armstrong saw that one coming. Armstrong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A jab from Abdul finds it's way through Armstrong's defenses. Armstrong throws a nice looking combination but Abdul bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Armstrong fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abdul manages to avoid it. Abdul clinches up with Armstrong and pushes him back against the cage. Armstrong slowing the pace effectively. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A battle for position here, against the cage. Armstrong stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abdul lands a right hand. Armstrong is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Armstrong blocking some punches.
Abdul's coach down at Next Level MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Abdul's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Abdul slows down the pace here.
Armstrong blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Armstrong has Abdul pushed against the cage. Abdul fails to pull guard.
Armstrong is fighting off a takedown attempt but Abdul is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Armstrong to the mat. Armstrong regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Abdul sitting in guard here, content to control. Abdul lands a couple of elbows. Armstrong working a defensive guard but Abdul passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Armstrong is trying to maintain the position but Abdul is very close to passing his half guard. Armstrong is looking to improve his position.
Abdul trying to pass the guard but Armstrong defending well. Abdul seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Armstrong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ground and pound from Abdul. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Abdul in particular looking to stall. Armstrong has hold of Abdul's hands but Abdul slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Armstrong tries to roll over but Abdul keeps him under control. Armstrong is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armstrong wants to get back to full guard but Abdul has passed into side control. Armstrong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Abdul on the ground. Abdul is chipping away with strikes.
Abdul is working to tighten his grip on Armstrong's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Armstrong has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Abdul is really squeezing tight and eventually Armstrong passes out! Abdul breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Hoosein Abdul! In his post fight interview, Hoosein Abdul started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
