Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Miles (ranked 2920 p4p, 4585 weight class) and Rikz Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rikz Tyson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Miles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rikz Tyson! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miles tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tyson defends well and Miles ends up having to push Tyson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Miles gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Tyson working a defensive guard here.
Miles stopping the sweep attempt from Tyson. Miles wants to control from the top but Tyson keeps moving. Miles postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miles works a leg free and moves into half guard. Miles controlling the pace. Miles is keen to just control but Tyson is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miles is looking to advance position but Tyson won't allow it. Miles stops Tyson from getting back to his feet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Tyson wants to improve his position but Miles is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Miles goes for a double leg but Tyson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tyson continues to drive forward. Tyson tries to pull guard but Miles holds him up against the cage and eventually Tyson drops back down to his feet.
Miles tries to work over Tyson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Miles has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tyson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Miles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Miles prevents it.
Miles gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Miles looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Tyson keeping moving, preventing Miles from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Miles controls the pace. Miles wants to control from the top but Tyson keeps moving. Tyson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miles can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miles works over Tyson with some ground and pound from guard. Tyson is looking for a triangle here but Miles uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tyson being controlled for a moment. Tyson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Miles controls the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Miles working away. Miles remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Miles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tyson keeps working.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Miles dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Nice defenses there by Tyson. Miles scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Tyson kicks off Miles and gets to his feet. Tyson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. An attempted straight right counter from Miles misses the target. A slow jab from Miles misses its intended target. Miles is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tyson can do to turn this around? A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tyson is defended easily by Miles. Miles throws a jab but it's blocked by Tyson. Miles misses with a wild body shot. Some wild striking there from Miles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tyson shoots for a double leg takedown but Miles sprawls well. He's pushed Tyson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A little feinted left hand from Miles on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Dan Miles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rikz Tyson. Tyson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Miles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tyson moves away. Miles throws the left hand but Tyson avoids the punch easily. Miles misses with an uppercut
and Tyson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Miles thinking. Miles waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Tyson. Tyson shoots in for a takedown but Miles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Miles misses with a looping right. Rikz Tyson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Miles throws a big shot that misses. Tyson throws a right and a left that Miles avoids nicely. Miles closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyson jumps guard but Miles stands there with Tyson around his waist. Tyson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Tyson is breathing heavily. Miles is trying to trip Tyson. He has hold of a leg but Tyson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Miles persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Tyson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Tyson is trying to keep Miles in close.
Miles stands and throws Tyson's legs to the side, diving into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Miles is looking to take a break and control but Tyson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Miles stalls from top position. Miles trying to control the action but Tyson is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tyson is trying to work for a sweep but Miles has mounted him! Miles working the ground and pound effectively.
Dan Miles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tyson wants to control but Miles is having none of it. Miles trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Miles is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tyson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Miles throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Tyson tries to counter by closing the distance. Tyson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Miles. Tyson tries to clinch but Miles is having none of it. An inside leg kick from Tyson misses. Tyson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Tyson shoots for a takedown but Miles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tyson wants to clinch up but Miles keeps it at a distance. Miles was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Tyson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tyson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Miles swivels and escapes. Miles looks to throw the jab but Tyson is out of range. That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Miles moves nicely into side control. Tyson is looking for a sweep. The referee asks Miles politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Miles prefers to stall for the moment though. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tyson moves in looking to clinch but Miles pushes him off. Rikz Tyson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dan Miles is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Miles shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tyson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Miles showed his dominance in that final round. Well Miles has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
