Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James McGuire (ranked 2090 p4p, 3475 weight class) and Chris Waddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuire kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Metallica - Enter Sandman . James McGuire has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James McGuire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Waddle!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire throws a head kick that misses
and Waddle counters with a low kick, right behind McGuire 's knee.
McGuire throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Waddle counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Waddle misses with a hook. McGuire ducked under it nicely.
Waddle connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

McGuire has Waddle up against the cage in a clinch.
Waddle wants to take the fight to the mat but McGuire manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
McGuire blocks an uppercut.
McGuire is trying to stall.
Waddle stalling.
Waddle blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Waddle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

McGuire instigates a clinch.
Waddle lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
McGuire misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Waddle.
A short right from Waddle.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McGuire jumps guard and drags Waddle to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

McGuire looking for a guillotine here but Waddle defends easily.

McGuire throws his legs up looking for a submission but Waddle uses it to pass to side control.

McGuire tries to improve position but can't.
We've been hearing good reports from McGuire's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
McGuire is working hard here to advance position.
Waddle trying to control the action but McGuire is working from the bottom.
McGuire is working to avoid the ground and pound but Waddle connects with a decent elbow.
Waddle wants to stand but McGuire has his arm trapped.
Waddle throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and McGuire works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Waddle seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGuire is trying to stand back up but Waddle is controlling him
Waddle slips a nice elbow through McGuire's hands, connecting with McGuire's forehead.
Waddle not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

McGuire actively working from the bottom here.
Waddle looks to land a strike but McGuire avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

McGuire is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Waddle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Waddle lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Waddle sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Waddle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McGuire. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Waddle postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

McGuire working for a triangle but Waddle defends it easily.
Waddle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Waddle lands a couple of digs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Waddle lands a couple of elbows.

McGuire looking for a guillotine here but Waddle defends easily.
Waddle wants to control from the top but McGuire keeps moving.
Waddle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Waddle trying to control the position from guard on top but McGuire is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Waddle scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Waddle trying to control but McGuire is working from the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Waddle dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Waddle avoids the body shot from McGuire.
McGuire moves forwards but Waddle connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like James McGuire has been cut.
McGuire darts in trying to clinch
and Waddle counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

McGuire instigates a clinch.
Waddle throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
A short body shot lands from Waddle as the two fighters clinch.
Waddle is pressed up against the cage. McGuire has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Waddle down to the mat. Waddle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nice body punch from Waddle.
Waddle lands a nice shot to the body.
Waddle scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
McGuire throws a push kick but Waddle slaps the foot to one side.
McGuire takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Waddle lands the left hand.
A solid leg kick lands there for Waddle.

Waddle waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract McGuire. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped McGuire to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

McGuire is rocked!
McGuire is looking to stand up but Waddle isn't so interested in that idea.
Oh McGuire is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Waddle lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Waddle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Waddle gets to his feet and stands over McGuire, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! McGuire felt that one! Waddle unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save McGuire from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Waddle!
After the fight, Chris Waddle was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
