Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Max Power (ranked 4500 p4p, 4215 weight class) and Rikz Monkey (ranked 224 p4p, 219 weight class). Power comes to the cage accompanied by Keep it 99. Monkey has chosen Unbecoming as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rikz Monkey!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power fails to land the takedown.
Monkey lands a jab to the head.
A shot to the liver by Monkey. Beautiful body shot.
The crowd cheers as Monkey lands an impressive looking overhand right. Power doesn't seem phased though.
Power takes a jab right on the kisser.
Power shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Monkey as he avoids it easily.
Monkey scores with a nice right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Power or perhaps it was just good defense by Monkey, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Power. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Monkey bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Power's head backwards.

Power is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Monkey's half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Power uses his free foot to push down on Monkey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Monkey.
Monkey tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Power takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Power looking for a guillotine from mount but Monkey is having none of it.
Monkey tries to hold on but Power pushes him away.

Power looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Power wants to finish this one by submission but Monkey is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Power.
Power really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Monkey can't escape the position.
Monkey wants to hold on but Power pushes him away.

Power is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Monkey can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Monkey tries to lock up and control but Power gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Power has hold of Monkey's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Monkey manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Power is working for a guillotine from mount but Monkey frees his head quite easily.
Power is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Monkey is in real trouble.
Monkey looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Power has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Monkey is trying to stand back up.
Monkey is trying to break free.
Power biding his time, controlling Monkey.
You can see the frustration on Monkey's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Monkey trying to get back to his feet but Power is in full control for now.

Power is persistently looking for the submission but Monkey is defending it well.

Power has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Monkey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Power. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Power patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Max Power will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Monkey tests Power's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Monkey uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Power feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Power showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Max Power overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Power seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Monkey for as long as he can get away with.

Power drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Power jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Power is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Monkey looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Monkey wants to stand but Power is controlling the position.

Power drops back looking for a leg! Monkey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monkey manages to kick Power off! Power jumps back into Monkey's guard.
Monkey tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Power controlling from the top position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Monkey lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Max Power is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Power drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Monkey swats away the attempt to clinch by Power.
Monkey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Power.
Power shoots and misses
and Monkey counters with a three punch combo that has Power backing up. Power nods at Monkey to acknowledge the strikes.
Monkey scores with a crisp jab that stopped Power in his tracks.
Monkey connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Monkey scores with a hook to the body. Power takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Power on the wrong end of a nice hook.

and Monkey counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Power. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Power shoots for a takedown but Monkey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Power on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Monkey lands an overhand right.

Power is rocked!
Monkey connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Oh Power is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rikz Monkey seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Monkey throws a pinpoint strike between Power's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Power crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Monkey scores a great knockout victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rikz Monkey!
Rikz Monkey seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
