Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alistair Ubereem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mac Jackson! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donk. Ubereem catches Jackson right on the button with a cross. Jackson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jackson tries to clinch but Ubereem moves out of range. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ubereem paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mac Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ubereem with a hook. Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A shot to the liver by Ubereem. Beautiful body shot. Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ubereem looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ubereem wants to control but Jackson postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ubereem is looking for a sweep. Ubereem is trying to escape the position but Jackson is controlling the position. Jackson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Jackson stands up and beckons Ubereem to his feet. Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ubereem but Ubereem pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jackson shoots in and bounces Ubereem off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ubereem tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Ubereem is keeping the position. Ubereem is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jackson postures up.
Ubereem looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ubereem is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jackson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Jackson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ubereem counters with a straight right hand. Alistair Ubereem is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jackson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ubereem swivels and escapes. Ubereem scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Ubereem lands with a straight right. Jackson didn't see that one coming. Jackson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ubereem connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jackson's hands. Ubereem fails in his attempt to clinch. Ubereem lands a jab to Jackson's midsection. Ubereem throws out a loose jab but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it. Nice shot by Ubereem. Ubereem cracks Jackson with a good jab. Ubereem loads up on a big right hand but Jackson slips the punch. Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jackson misses with a double jab
and Ubereem counters with a straight right hand. Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ubereem swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ubereem tries to clinch up. Some wild striking there from Ubereem.
Ubereem ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jackson moves away. Jackson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Jackson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Alistair Ubereem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mac Jackson. Ubereem doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.
Jab by Ubereem. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ubereem lands a lovely overhand right. Ubereem scores with a nice strike.
Jackson is rocked! Jackson ducks into an uppercut from Ubereem and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
