Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Curtis Tate Iii (ranked 24169 p4p, 24080 weight class) and James Braddock (ranked 193 p4p, 206 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis Tate Iii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Braddock!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braddock slips a straight right by Tate Iii.
Braddock looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tate Iii tries to bum rush Braddock with a series of wild strikes but Braddock uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tate Iii ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Braddock moves away.
Braddock throws a nice looking combination but Tate Iii bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tate Iii has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas in the buildup to the fight.
Braddock throws a combination that misses
enabling Tate Iii to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like James Braddock has been cut.
Braddock takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Braddock misses with a double jab.
Tate Iii lands a jab to Braddock's midsection.
Tate Iii looks to score with a jab to the body but Braddock is just out of range.
Tate Iii scores with a jab to the jaw.
Sloppy strikes from Braddock. Those never looked like landing.
Tate Iii swinging wildly here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Braddock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Braddock misses with an uppercut
and Tate Iii counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Braddock. Those never looked like landing.

Tate Iii clips Braddock with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Braddock a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.
Tate Iii looks to land a combination. Braddock sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Braddock is rocked!
Braddock backs away from a small jab... but Tate Iii lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Braddock crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Tate Iii with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Curtis Tate Iii!
