Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kokkoro Kirin (ranked 1171 p4p, 2309 weight class) and Steven Shewmaker (ranked 174 p4p, 303 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kokkoro Kirin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Shewmaker!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirin misses with a two punch combination.
Shewmaker takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
It looks like Steven Shewmaker has been cut.
Kirin throws a hook to the side of Shewmaker's head but Shewmaker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kirin blocks the body kick.
Kirin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Kirin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shewmaker on the side of the head.
Shewmaker lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Shewmaker misses with a takedown attempt
and Kirin counters with a nice right hand that sends Shewmaker toppling to the canvas! Shewmaker scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kirin finish him?!
Shewmaker is rocked!
That has opened up Steven Shewmaker's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kirin is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Shewmaker flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Shewmaker is out cold! Kirin holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kokkoro Kirin!
Kokkoro Kirin decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
