Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rockwell Mcgee (ranked 1759 p4p, 1034 weight class) and Luigi Bonifacio (ranked 226 p4p, 143 weight class). Mcgee comes to the cage accompanied by Rocky Balboa - Música de entrenamiento. Bonifacio has chosen Karate - Kennedy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Luigi Bonifacio has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rockwell Mcgee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luigi Bonifacio !
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcgee drops Bonifacio with a left right combo! Mcgee follows him down to the ground into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcgee misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Mcgee in side control, throwing shots but Bonifacio defends.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Bonifacio is looking for a sweep.
Mcgee throws an elbow but Bonifacio slips to the side and avoids it well.

Bonifacio parries the strikes from Mcgee easily there. Mcgee is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bonifacio to escape.
Bonifacio manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Mcgee's coaches at Brooklyn Mixed Martial Arts have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Bonifacio looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mcgee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bonifacio wants to pass the guard but Mcgee is defending well.

Let's hope that Bonifacio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Mcgee pushes Bonifacio off looking to stand but Bonifacio dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bonifacio takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bonifacio moves out of range of the strikes.
Bonifacio is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Mcgee misses with a straight left.

and Bonifacio counters with a straight right hand.
Bonifacio walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mcgee throws a hook to the side of Bonifacio 's head but Bonifacio sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mcgee connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Bonifacio ! He's out on his feet! Mcgee rushes in and drops Bonifacio with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rockwell Mcgee!
An out of breath Rockwell Mcgee thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Luigi Bonifacio spoke after the fight, saying 'I am the BEST!'.
