Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Hermann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Merel!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merel takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Karl Hermann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hermann lands with an overhand left.

Hermann throws an overhand right that lands on Merel's shoulder, as Merel tries to avoid the shot.
Merel changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Hermann takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Merel bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
No joy there for Merel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hermann feints and then cracks Merel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Merel down.
Merel fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hermann looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hermann throws the kick towards the body but Merel avoids it.

Hermann ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Merel moves away.
Hermann gets caught flat footed, as Merel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Merel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hermann on the side of the head.

Merel closes the distance and clinches up with Hermann, looking for a takedown. Merel pushes Hermann against the cage but Hermann circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Merel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hermann.
Karl Hermann is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Hermann takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

enabling Hermann to counter with a crisp jab.
Hermann throws a looping overhand right but Merel ducks down to avoid it.
Merel takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Anthony Merel has been cut.
Karl Hermann is winning the standup battle so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hermann throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Merel moves out of range as Hermann strikes.
Hermann scores with the left hand. Merel knows he should have avoided that one.
Merel is rocked!
Merel gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Hermann gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karl Hermann!
