Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leyte Gulf (ranked 142 p4p, 370 weight class) and James Hunt (ranked 19 p4p, 61 weight class). Gulf's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, For Heavy Metal we will die!. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leyte Gulf! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Hunt! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gulf is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hunt. A nice leg kick from Gulf, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hunt uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gulf. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Gulf looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gulf on the wrong end of a nice hook. Gulf misses with a lunging right hand
letting Hunt counter with a right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunt scores with a nice strike. Hunt slips under a jab from Gulf.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gulf wants to clinch but Hunt slips to the side and Hunt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hunt tries to work over Gulf's front leg with a kick but Gulf checks it. Hunt misses with a combination
and Gulf counters with a three punch combo that has Hunt backing up. Hunt nods at Gulf to acknowledge the strikes. Hunt throws a sloppy head kick and Gulf counters with a stiff right hand. Gulf sizes up Hunt with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Gulf looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Gulf looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hunt throws out a counter right but Gulf avoids it with no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gulf misses with a hook. Hunt swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Gulf takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Hunt throws a leg kick enabling Gulf to counter with a crisp jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gulf moves into the clinch successfully.
Hunt manages to break the clinch.
Gulf throws a quick inside leg kick. Hunt misses with an uppercut
and Gulf counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hunt throws an off balance right hand
and Gulf counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt misses with an uppercut
and Gulf counters by moving into the clinch. Gulf blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Gulf lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Hunt. Gulf lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A head punch blocked on the inside by Hunt. Gulf throws a head punch that misses. Gulf lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hunt backwards. Hunt has a couple of punches blocked by Gulf.

Hunt is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Gulf lands a left hand.
Hunt pushes Gulf back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hunt. Gulf gets through Hunt's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gulf. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hunt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gulf tries to clinch but Hunt moves away and Hunt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hunt blocking some punches.
Gulf gets through Hunt's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Hunt blocks a body shot from Gulf. A quick uppercut on the inside from Hunt. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Hunt misses with some punches.
Gulf pulls guard effortlessly. Hunt trying to control but Gulf is working from the bottom. Hunt stopping the sweep attempt from Gulf. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gulf being controlled here, momentarily. Hunt is continuing to stall. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Leyte Gulf dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Hunt with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gulf to score with a decent uppercut. Hunt lands a leg kick that knocks Gulf off balance momentarily. Gulf bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hunt misses with a left hand and Gulf counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunt connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. A chopping leg kick lands by Gulf. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gulf, as that shot connected.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gulf throws a looping overhand right but Hunt ducks down to avoid it. Hunt throws a big counter head kick but Gulf avoids it with no problem. Gulf throws a leg kick that is checked and Hunt counters with a stiff right hand. A head kick by Hunt misses and Gulf counters with a slapping leg kick. Hunt connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Gulf is rocked! Hunt has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Gulf fails in his attempt to clinch. Gulf moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromHunt. Gulf scores with a nice strike. Gulf missing with a left hand there. Hunt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gulf fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hunt on the side of the head. Gulf moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Hunt uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gulf. Hunt keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hunt swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Hunt fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Gulf to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Gulf looks to clinch but Hunt throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Gulf taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). James Hunt! James Hunt got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
