PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wonded Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akao Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monkey comes to the ring accompanied by Everything in its right place- Radio Head. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machida gets a clinch.
Machida lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Wonded Monkey has been cut.
Machida gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Monkey wants to get back to striking at distance but Machida won't allow it.
Machida can't get the takedown.
Monkey is looking to break free of the clinch but Machida has double underhooks.
Machida keeps control of Monkey as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Machida manages to pull guard.

Machida has his foot on Monkey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Monkey works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Machida wants to sweep but no luck.
Machida can't keep his opponent in guard - Monkey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Monkey is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Machida doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Monkey.
Machida gets full guard.
Monkey tries to free his leg and advance position but Machida is retaining full guard.
Machida looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Monkey thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Monkey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Monkey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machida swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Monkey passes Machida's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Monkey is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Machida is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
You get the feeling that Machida really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Machida is in all sorts of trouble here.

Monkey looking to secure an arm triangle but Machida defends it well.

Monkey has hold of Machida's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Machida manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Machida flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Monkey seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Machida is holding on tight.

Monkey is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Machida has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Machida has given up his back.

Monkey working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Machida wants to get back to his feet.
Monkey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Monkey has the hooks in. Machida is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Machida manages to reverse the position and now he's in Monkey's guard. Nice work there by Machida.

Machida wants to stand but Monkey has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Monkey looking for a triangle here. Machida is fighting it but it looks tight! Monkey pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Machida is tapping out - this one is all over!
