Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ted Bremner (ranked 23738 p4p, 3475 weight class) and Joseph Franz (ranked 287 p4p, 194 weight class). Franz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sandstorm. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ted Bremner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Franz! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franz takes a swing at Bremner's ribcage but misses. Bremner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Franz. Bremner throwing a counter right hand but Franz manages to avoid it. Franz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bremner defends well and Franz ends up having to push Bremner into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Bremner is looking to counter punch. Franz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bremner but Bremner pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ted Bremner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Franz. Franz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bremner to the ground. Franz is now in Bremner's guard. Franz controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Franz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Bremner is fighting it off but Franz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bremner's guard against the cage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bremner wants to stand and escape but Franz is having none of it. Franz preventing the sweep. Bremner tries to clinch but Franz moves away and Franz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's four minutes gone in the round. Franz stays in close to Bremner's body and controls the position. Bremner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Franz's guard. Franz is pulling down on Bremner's head to control his posture. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bremner wants to control from the top but Franz keeps moving. Franz is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Our spies down at at Roosters Coop inform us that Franz has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Franz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Good exchange - Bremner coming out on top. Excellent takedown into side control there by Franz. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Let's hope that Franz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Franz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
