Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam East (ranked 1435 p4p, 1122 weight class) and Hao Sawamura (ranked 211 p4p, 180 weight class). Hao Sawamura will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam East!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hao Sawamura!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
East throws a big shot that misses.
East misses with a combination
and Sawamura counters with a nice uppercut.
East misses with a straight left.
Sawamura looks like he wants to counter punch here.
East misses the body punch
and Sawamura counters with a left to the body.
Donk. East catches Sawamura right on the button with a cross.
East thows a left - swing and a miss!
East jabbing away but nothing is landing.
East throws a right hand that misses
and Sawamura counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
East lands a right hook to the body.
Sawamura bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
East has been working on his boxing with his coaches at in shig we trust in the buildup to the fight.
The fighters circling - East throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sawamura throws out a counter right but East avoids it with no problem.

Sawamura swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
East lunges at Sawamura with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sawamura's hand.
East misses with a hook to the body
and Sawamura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
East throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sawamura defending well as East loads up on a big left hand.

and Sawamura counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Sawamura counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sawamura takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Sawamura counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sawamura avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sawamura slips a straight right by East.
East lands with an overhand left.
Sawamura uses good head movement to avoid the hook from East.
East misses with a wild body shot.
The fighters circling - East throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A little jabbing left from Sawamura on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
East looks to land a right hand but Sawamura moved out of range.
Sawamura looks like he wants to counter punch here.
East throws a hook but Sawamura blocks it.
Sawamura was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
East throws a right hand that misses
and Sawamura counters with a right hand to the body.
Adam East seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sawamura on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
East is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sawamura.
Sawamura doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
East misses with a shot to the body
and Sawamura counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
East just misses with a punch to the body.
East swings widly with a right hand
and Sawamura counters with a straight right hand.
A slow jab from East misses its intended target.
Sawamura throws out a counter right but East avoids it with no problem.
Sawamura is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

East missing with a left hand there. Sawamura was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

East is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Sawamura's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
The crowd cheers as East lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sawamura doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Hao Sawamura has been cut.
East throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Sawamura uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by East.
Sawamura is clearly trying to counter these attacks from East with a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
East fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sawamura on the side of the head.
A shot to the body from East misses
and Sawamura counters with a stiff right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
East connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Sawamura is rocked!
Sawamura slips under a jab from East.
A little jabbing left from Sawamura on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Sawamura is still on wobbly legs! Can East finish him?
East cracks Sawamura with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Sawamura tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but East pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Sawamura is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam East!
An out of breath Adam East thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
