PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sebastien Linne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddard Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Linne comes to the cage accompanied by Arcturus - The Chaos Path. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stark darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Stark seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Linne wants to control but Stark is keeping busy.

Linne looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Linne preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Stark tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Linne.
Stark missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Linne has hold of Stark's hands but Stark slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Linne moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Stark lands a couple of elbows.

Linne has his foot on Stark's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stark works his way back into a safe position though.

Stark loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Linne working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stark doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stark manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Linne is breathing heavily.
Stark works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Linne wants to get back to full guard.
Stark is nestled in close to Linne, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Stark is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Linne sees it coming and defends easily.

Stark moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Linne.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stark throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Stark working the ground and pound but Linne is defending the strikes.
Linne is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Stark off and has taken his back!
Linne has the hooks in. Stark is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Linne trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Stark is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Linne off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Linne is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stark is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Linne is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Stark knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Stark for a finish.

Linne is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Linne is trying to stick to Stark's back but Stark is turning into Linne. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Linne's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Stark.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sebastien Linne dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Linne lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Linne darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Linne misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Linne misses with a wild combination.
Linne wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Stark tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Stark is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Linne drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Linne seems to have locked his on tight now - Stark screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Linne, as he picks up the win!
