The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Jackson.

Jackson clinches up against the cage.
Yuldashev on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Yuldashev tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jackson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jackson misses with a knee to the head.
Jackson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Yuldashev blocks it with crossed arms.
Yuldashev throws a punch but it's blocked by Jackson.
Jackson throws an elbow but it misses.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Yuldashev.
Yuldashev lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jackson backwards.

Yuldashev manages to break the clinch.
We've been told by Yuldashev's head coaches at CT that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jackson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yuldashev has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Jackson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yuldashev looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yuldashev looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yuldashev!

Jackson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yuldashev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jackson tries to buck Yuldashev off but Yuldashev is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jackson scores with a head kick. Yuldashev tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Yuldashev tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yuldashev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yuldashev but Yuldashev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Yuldashev lands a head kick. Jackson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
