Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kipley Pike (ranked 4602 p4p, 4515 weight class) and Richie Crawford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kipley Pike!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richie Crawford!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crawford dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pike. That did some damage!
Crawford moves away from the strike by Pike.
Crawford tries to clinch but Pike moves out of range.
Pike works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Pike tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crawford was well out of range. Poor timing from Pike.

Pike missing with a left hand there. Crawford was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Crawford tries to close the distance and clinch but Pike swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pike swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Crawford cracks Pike with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Crawford pushes Pike away with a front kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crawford closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pike is trying to stand back up but Crawford is controlling him

Crawford landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crawford wants to free his trapped foot but Pike is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Crawford stands up over Pike, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Crawford goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pike has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Crawford but great work by Pike.

Crawford has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pike is working away from the top position though.

Pike gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Kipley Pike is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Pike crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Crawford - the referee stops the clock and Pike gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Crawford. Pike manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Pike stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Crawford.

Richie Crawford showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Crawford.
Crawford lands a jab to Pike's midsection.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pike enables Crawford to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pike manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Crawford has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Crawford tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Crawford has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kipley Pike has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Crawford remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well Crawford has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
