Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Ship (ranked 1844 p4p, 1736 weight class) and Albert Pulkkinen (ranked 62 p4p, 48 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Roman Ship! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Albert Pulkkinen! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pulkkinen throws a body kick that misses and Ship counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pulkkinen is controlling Ship's posture. Pulkkinen wants to stand but Ship is controlling the position. Pulkkinen wants to sweep here but Ship controlling him for the moment. Ship is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pulkkinen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ship is one step ahead there. Ship is fighting to break Pulkkinen's control of his arms but Pulkkinen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ship tries to free his leg and advance position but Pulkkinen is retaining full guard. Pulkkinen is trying to keep Ship in close.

Ship postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pulkkinen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ship, into his guard. Pulkkinen is looking to work some ground and pound but Ship has wrist control. Ship might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ship utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pulkkinen wants to control from the top but Ship keeps moving. Pulkkinen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Pulkkinen trying to control but Ship is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pulkkinen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ship's head. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Pulkkinen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ship looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pulkkinen wants to control from the top but Ship keeps moving. Pulkkinen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pulkkinen throws an elbow that misses. Ship uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pulkkinen's guard. Nice move by Ship! Ship wants to pass the guard but Pulkkinen is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ship drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pulkkinen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ship has Pulkkinen in his guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pulkkinen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ship is looking for a triangle but Pulkkinen pushes his legs off easily.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pulkkinen postures up in Ship's guard and throws a big left but Ship blocks it. Pulkkinen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pulkkinen looking to pass the guard. Ship working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pulkkinen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pulkkinen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ship looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pulkkinen passes into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pulkkinen is looking to take a break and control but Ship is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Albert Pulkkinen will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ship shoots in and drives through. Pulkkinen sprawls well. A combination from Pulkkinen does no damage. Ship swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The strikes coming from Pulkkinen are missing the target in this wave of attacks. My spies in Deep waters inform me that Pulkkinen has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. That was a close second round but I would say that Roman Ship will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Roman Ship's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Ship bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pulkkinen's head. Ship throws a head kick that misses and Pulkkinen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Pulkkinen misses the body punch and Ship counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ship. Pulkkinen lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Roman Ship overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ship is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pulkkinen pulls his head out easily. Pulkkinen wants to control but Ship is keeping him busy. Pulkkinen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Albert Pulkkinen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ship fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pulkkinen manages to avoid it. Ship rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pulkkinen counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ship thinking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ship slips a straight right by Pulkkinen. Ship appears to be looking for a counter takedown. No joy there for Pulkkinen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Pulkkinen feints a jab promting Ship to slip. Pulkkinen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ship slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. A clash of legs there as Ship blocks the low kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Pulkkinen. That's going to slow Ship down. Ship misses with an attempted mid kick.
Ship misses the jab. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. No joy there for Pulkkinen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pulkkinen tries to clinch up. Ship feinted with a counter takedown. Ship moves forwards but Pulkkinen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
And that's the end of the fight! Albert Pulkkinen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Pulkkinen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
