Kersikov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Builder - Her Voice (Headhunterz Remix). With a record of 9 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aum Munga!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munga ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kersikov moves away.
Kersikov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Aum Munga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kersikov checks a leg kick.
Munga throws a nice looking combination but Kersikov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Munga misses with an uppercut
and Kersikov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Munga connects with a solid leg kick.
Munga throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kersikov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
No luck for Munga with that takedown attempt.
Kersikov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

It looks like Aum Munga has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kersikov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Munga throws a looping overhand right but Kersikov ducks down to avoid it.

It looked like Kersikov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Kersikov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kersikov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kersikov wants it to stay on the feet.

That has opened up Aum Munga's cut even more.
Munga shoots in looking for a takedown. Kersikov tries to sprawl out of it but Munga keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kersikov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Munga has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Munga there as he acknowledges the shot.
Munga throws a low kick, looking for Kersikov's leg but Kersikov calmly moves out of range.

and Kersikov counters with a nice uppercut.
Kersikov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Munga looks to land a left hand but Kersikov moved out of range nicely.
Kersikov swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Munga cracks Kersikov with an open hand slap.
Kersikov walks into a stiff left hand from Munga.
Munga fails in his attempt to clinch.
Munga swings for the body but Kersikov moves out of range.
Kersikov lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Munga shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kersikov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kersikov pushes Munga off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Munga throws a body shot but no joy.
Munga throws a lazy right hand but Kersikov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Munga misses with the combination.
Kersikov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Kersikov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Kersikov counters with a head kick that drops Munga to the mat! Munga scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

The cut above Aum Munga's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Munga comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Donk. Munga catches Kersikov right on the button with a cross.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Aum Munga's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Munga throws a lazy uppercut
and Kersikov counters with a crisp right that sends Munga to the canvas! Kersikov follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dmitri Kersikov!
An out of breath Dmitri Kersikov thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
