Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kodiyak Redd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dan Baker! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baker avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Baker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Redd avoids it really well and circles away. Redd seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Baker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Baker tries to close the distance and clinch but Redd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Redd swats away the attempt to clinch by Baker. Redd shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Baker is trying to defend but Redd finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Redd passes into side control, despite Baker's attempt to control the position.
Baker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Redd's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker won't allow Redd to pass to mount. Baker desperately trying to maintain half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Redd connects with a nice short shot to Baker's temple.
Baker is rocked! Redd controlling the action here. Baker is still in real trouble! Can Redd finish him? Redd lands a big elbow - Baker is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Redd!
