PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nightey Knights (ranked 1362 p4p, 1972 weight class) and Aki Muhammad (ranked 66 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nightey Knights!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aki Muhammad!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knights fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Knights lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Aki Muhammad has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Muhammad.
Muhammad paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Knights pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Knights definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Muhammad jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Muhammad slips under a jab.
Muhammad looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Muhammad looks like he wants to counter punch here.
The fighters circle momentarily. Muhammad darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Knights throws a right hand that misses
letting Muhammad counter with a right hand.
Muhammad blocks a jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Muhammad! But no joy.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Muhammad takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Muhammad keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Knights.
Muhammad takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Muhammad looks to throw the jab but Knights is out of range.
Knights is looking to counter the offense by Muhammad and move into the clinch.
Knights displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Muhammad throws out the jab.
Muhammad connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Knights momentarily.
Knights lands a jab-cross combination.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Knights keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Knights misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Muhammad scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Muhammad throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Muhammad takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Muhammad is rocked!
Knights finds Muhammad's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Muhammad flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Knights lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Muhammad will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nightey Knights!
After winning the bout, Nightey Knights thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
