Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexsandro Ramos (ranked 3436 p4p, 1029 weight class) and Island Boy Jim (ranked 379 p4p, 148 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexsandro Ramos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Island Boy Jim! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jim blocks a jab. Jim feints a counter leg kick. Jim closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramos circles away. Jim closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jim trying to control from half guard but Ramos is working away. Still in half guard, Jim seems content to control. Let's hope that Jim has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Ramos is trying to stand up here but Jim is controlling him well. Jim is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. It looks like Island Boy Jim has been cut. Ramos loads up on a big right hand but Jim slips the punch. Ramos misses the jab. Jim looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ramos is fending him off so far but Jim persists. Nope, Ramos circles away and we're back to standing. Ramos misses with a series of wild punches.
Jim throws out a counter right but Ramos avoids it with no problem. Jim scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ramos sneaks out the side door and pushes Jim away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. We've been informed that Jim has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jim uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ramos. Ramos misses with a wild body shot. Jim with a poor takedown enabling Ramos to counter with a crisp jab. Ramos lunges at Jim with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jim's hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jim uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ramos. Jim drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ramos defends it well. Ramos throws a lazy right hand but Jim sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jim closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jim lands in his opponent's guard. Jim passes into half guard. Jim sitting and controlling from the half guard. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Jim. Jim looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Jim fails with the takedown. Jim shoots for a takedown but Ramos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jim walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Jim will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Alexsandro Ramos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Island Boy Jim. Jim misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ramos is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jim. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jim is defended easily by Ramos. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jim blocks a jab. Ramos works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Ramos listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Jim has a takedown stuffed.

Jim shoots in looking for a takedown but Ramos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jim's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. An attempted straight right counter from Ramos misses the target. Ramos misses the jab. Jim slips under a jab from Ramos. Ramos pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Ramos misses the jab. Nice defenses there by Jim. Ramos misses with a right hand and Jim counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jim stops Ramos from standing up. Ramos is looking to stand back up but Jim counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ramos.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jim is looking for a kimura but Ramos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jim to get the leverage. Jim is keen to just control but Ramos is a slippery customer. Jim is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ramos is just riding it out for now. Jim eventually gives up the hold. Ramos is not content to let Jim control the position. Jim is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ramos has managed to free his arm - good work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ramos is trying to stand up here but Jim is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramos is staying active underneath Jim, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jim is working for a kimura but Ramos is defending it quite comfortably.
Jim passes to side control. Jim is staying tight to Ramos's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jim swings around for an armbar but Ramos sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jim's guard. Jim tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ramos wants to stand but Jim has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ramos throws a big elbow that misses. Ramos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ramos controlling from the top position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ramos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jim is tightening it up a little... Ramos has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ramos reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ramos taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jim!
