PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Will Hung (ranked 2647 p4p, 1432 weight class) and Eric Jacquin (ranked 304 p4p, 191 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Eric Jacquin was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hung lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jacquin backs up against the cage.
Hung lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jacquin pinned against the cage. Jacquin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jacquin darts in looking for a takedown but Hung gets double underhooks and turns Jacquin into the cage.
Hung shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jacquin defends it nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Hung as Jacquin shoots in.
Hung has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hung works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Hung feints and as Jacquin raises his hands in defense, Hung changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jacquin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Jacquin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jacquin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hung does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hung looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jacquin has picked Hung up and slammed him! Hung can't keep hold of the triangle and Jacquin manages to pass to side control!

Jacquin is looking to take a break and control but Hung is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jacquin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hung, who protects the arm well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jacquin has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hung!

Jacquin uses his free foot to push down on Hung's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hung.

That was a close round but I would say that Will Hung will probably get the nod.

Hung tries to lock up and control but Jacquin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hung is desperately trying to improve his position but Jacquin has a good base and remains in mount.
Eric Jacquin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hung has given up his back.

Hung shoots for a double leg takedown but Jacquin sprawls well. He's pushed Hung's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jacquin has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hung defend it? Jacquin steps over the head and cranks it - Hung is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Jacquin!
