Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Heatley (ranked 2568 p4p, 358 weight class) and Sensai Kuragi (ranked 343 p4p, 54 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dallas Heatley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sensai Kuragi! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuragi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Heatley was covering up waiting for the punch and Kuragi finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kuragi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kuragi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Heatley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kuragi is controlling him. Kuragi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kuragi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Heatley wants to stand but Kuragi is controlling the position. Heatley is looking to stand back up but Kuragi counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Heatley.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heatley pushes Kuragi off looking to stand but Kuragi dives back in and keeps control.
Kuragi is working for a kimura but Heatley is defending it quite comfortably.
Heatley is trying to stand.
Kuragi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Kuragi is looking for a kimura here.
Kuragi prevents Heatley from standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kuragi wants to work for an arm triangle but Heatley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kuragi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Heatley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kuragi on the ground. Heatley is trying to stand up here but Kuragi is controlling him well. Kuragi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kuragi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuragi is looking for a kimura but Heatley is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kuragi to get the leverage. Kuragi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Heatley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kuragi. Heatley is trying to stand.
Kuragi in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Heatley tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kuragi!
