Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kegomoditswe Vermeulen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rickson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vermeulen has taken the fight to the clinch.
Vermeulen lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Rickson Silva has been cut.
Silva is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vermeulen is defending well.
Silva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Silva blocks an elbow strike from Vermeulen.
Vermeulen lands an elbow that stopped Silva in his tracks for a moment.
Vermeulen stops a takedown attempt from Silva.
Kegomoditswe Vermeulen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickson Silva.
Silva blocks an elbow strike.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vermeulen walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Vermeulen clinches.
Silva successfully pulls guard.
Silva looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Silva is trying to control the position but Vermeulen postures up.
Vermeulen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.
Silva is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Vermeulen has his hands clasped together but Silva extends and breaks Vermeulen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Silva.

Rickson Silva really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Highland Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
