Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Anudo (ranked 1037 p4p, 1784 weight class) and Island Boy (ranked 158 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Island Boy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Mac Anudo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Island Boy! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anudo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Anudo lands in his opponent's guard. Anudo postures up.
Anudo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anudo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Anudo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boy is keeping the position for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boy can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anudo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Anudo sitting in guard, not really doing much. Boy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anudo throwing strikes but missing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anudo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Anudo looking to pass the guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Anudo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Anudo working the ground and pound.
It looks like Island Boy has been cut. Boy seems a little lost for a moment, as Anudo dominates the positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anudo working the head and body with strikes. The ground and pound from Anudo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Anudo tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Anudo is looking to take a break and control but Boy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anudo working away. Boy is being controlled here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anudo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Anudo has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. An elbow from Anudo crashes against the mat.
Anudo throws a strike aimed at the side of Boy's head but Boy avoids it well. Anudo is chipping away with strikes.
That has opened up Island Boy's cut even more. Boy avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Anudo. Anudo working the ground and pound but Boy is defending the strikes. Anudo cracks Boy with a big right hand but Boy just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The cut above Island Boy's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Island Boy's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mac Anudo!
