Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greg Pearson (ranked 3569 p4p, 4663 weight class) and Roman Isaiah (ranked 417 p4p, 495 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Greg Pearson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roman Isaiah! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Isaiah dives in for a single leg takedown but Pearson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Pearson is looking to counter punch. Pearson ducks right into an uppercut from Isaiah. Isaiah misses with the combination.
A little feinted left hand from Pearson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Isaiah tries to clinch so Pearson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Isaiah wants to get back to his feet but Pearson passes into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Isaiah has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pearson is working away from the top position though. Pearson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Isaiah really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pearson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pearson trying to control from half guard but Isaiah is working away. Isaiah tries to roll over but Pearson keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Pearson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Isaiah has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pearson is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pearson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Pearson is thwarting Isaiah's attempts to control the position. Pearson slips a nice elbow through Isaiah's hands, connecting with Isaiah's forehead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pearson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Isaiah can do anything to dispel that myth. Pearson working the head and body with strikes. Pearson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Isaiah defends it well. Pearson is looking to take a break and control but Isaiah is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Isaiah is looking to get back to full guard here but Pearson has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pearson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Isaiah is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
