The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mrkela shoots for a double leg takedown but Pain sprawls well. He's pushed Mrkela's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mrkela gets caught napping as Pain dives in and scores a takedown. Mrkela manages to retain guard.
Pain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pain throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mrkela pushes a forearm under Pain's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Pain is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
