Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Lazarus (ranked 4511 p4p, 4513 weight class) and Shaka Zulu (ranked 143 p4p, 144 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lazarus tries a low kick but Zulu avoids it.
Lazarus goes for a double leg but Zulu avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Zulu continues to drive forward.
Lazarus is pressed up against the cage. Zulu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lazarus down to the mat. Lazarus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Zulu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lazarus is just content to waste time from the top position. Zulu takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Lazarus is fighting to break Zulu's control of his arms but Zulu is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lazarus wants to get up but he can't break Zulu's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
