The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tanikawa throws a low kick, looking for Bonaparte's leg but Bonaparte calmly moves out of range.
Bonaparte definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Bonaparte swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tanikawa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tanikawa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bonaparte circles away quickly and effectively.

Bonaparte is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tanikawa.

Tanikawa throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bonaparte. Tanikawa does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tanikawa is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bonaparte rather than just go for the knockout.

Bonaparte gets in close and instigates a clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bonaparte creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bonaparte has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Tanikawa doesn't defend quickly enough and Bonaparte has managed to lock this one up! Can Tanikawa escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bonaparte on a fantastic submission victory.
