Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Gomez (ranked 881 p4p, 1671 weight class) and Jan Koblav (ranked 144 p4p, 248 weight class). Carlos Gomez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jan Koblav's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Gomez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jan Koblav! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koblav looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Gomez is trying to control the position but Koblav postures up. Koblav throws a big elbow that misses. Koblav postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Gomez is trying to keep Koblav in close.
Gomez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gomez wants to sweep here but Koblav controlling him for the moment. Gomez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Koblav accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koblav scoring with punches to the head and body. Gomez pulls Koblav in close to his closed guard and prevents Koblav from doing any damage or advancing position. Koblav drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gomez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gomez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gomez! Gomez trying to control the action but Koblav is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koblav tries to buck Gomez off but Gomez is having none of it. Koblav regains half guard there - taking advantage of Gomez's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Gomez is keen to just control but Koblav is a slippery customer. Koblav is pressing down on Gomez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Gomez won't allow Koblav to sweep him here. Gomez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Koblav working a defensive guard here.
Koblav keeping moving, preventing Gomez from controlling successfully. Koblav has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Tokyo Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gomez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koblav swivels though and keeps the full guard. Koblav is looking to cinch up a triangle. Gomez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Koblav's body to avoid the submission. Koblav has instead reached around Gomez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Koblav arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jan Koblav! A relieved looking Jan Koblav thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
