Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 1595 p4p, 3033 weight class) and Pultti Pyssy (ranked 206 p4p, 343 weight class). Pultti Pyssy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sparky Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pultti Pyssy! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson misses with a two punch combination.
Pyssy throws a poor cross that misses
and Anderson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Anderson misses with a wild body shot. Anderson closes the distance and clinches. Pyssy swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pyssy is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Anderson is keeping busy. Pyssy trying to stall but Anderson improves his position.
Anderson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Anderson manages to end up in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Pyssy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pyssy is looking for a sweep. Pyssy trying to remain calm as Anderson controls from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pyssy is looking for a sweep. Anderson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pyssy is trying to get back to half guard. Anderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pyssy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Pyssy desperately trying to maintain half guard. Anderson tries to pass to full mount but Pyssy defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Anderson prevents Pyssy from improving his position. Pyssy is not content to let Anderson control the position. Still in half guard, Anderson seems content to control. Pyssy wants to get back to full guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Pyssy holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Anderson slips under a jab from Pyssy. Anderson feinted with a counter takedown. Pyssy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
An attempted straight right counter from Anderson misses the target. Pyssy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Anderson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pultti Pyssy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Anderson forces Pyssy back against the cage and clinches. Anderson breaks the clinch.
Anderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Anderson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Pyssy throws a chopping leg kick but Anderson manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Good standup being displayed there by Pyssy as he connects with a hook. Pyssy connects with the punch. Pyssy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Anderson's head backwards. Anderson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Pyssy has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Anderson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Anderson shoots in and bounces Pyssy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Anderson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pyssy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pyssy working a defensive guard but Anderson manages to pass into side control anyway.
Anderson has hold of Pyssy's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Pyssy seems comfortable defending it but Anderson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Pyssy is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pyssy is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Anderson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sparky Anderson! During a confident post fight interview, Sparky Anderson thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
