The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez scores with a hook to the body. Lvavatai takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Valdez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Valdez.
Valdez is in close to Lvavatai 's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Lvavatai is looking for a triangle but Valdez pushes his legs off easily.
Lvavatai is trying to control the position but Valdez postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lvavatai wants to sweep but no luck.
Valdez throwing strikes from guard but Lvavatai blocks nicely.
Lvavatai has momentary wrist control but Valdez slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valdez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lvavatai 's head.
Lvavatai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Valdez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Lvavatai has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Valdez should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lvavatai has tightened it up now! Valdez should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
