Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Djuro Zec (ranked 1458 p4p, 250 weight class) and Stevo Caruga (ranked 193 p4p, 41 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Djuro Zec!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stevo Caruga!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caruga shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Caruga showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Caruga is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Zec definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Caruga is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zec is just riding it out for now. Caruga eventually gives up the hold.
Caruga seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Zec has recovered full guard.
Zec can't keep his opponent in guard - Caruga advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Caruga has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad The Island. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Caruga has gone for a leg lock! Zec slips out almost immediately though and dives into Caruga's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Zec stands up over Caruga, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Caruga is looking for a triangle but Zec pushes his legs off easily.
Zec distracts Caruga with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Zec wants to control from the top but Caruga keeps moving.

Caruga working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zec doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Caruga is tightening it up a little... Zec has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Zec reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Zec taps out! Nice BJJ there by Caruga!

After winning the bout, Stevo Caruga thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
