PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iulian Simionescu (ranked 853 p4p, 761 weight class) and Qing Wu (ranked 128 p4p, 116 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Wu.
Wu throws a shot from downtown. Simionescu moves away and avoids it.
Wu misses with a right hand
and Simionescu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Qing Wu has been cut.
Simionescu moves forwards but Wu connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Wu scores with a crisp jab that stopped Simionescu in his tracks.
Wu scores with a hook to the body. Simionescu takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A swing and a miss from Wu.
A little feinted left hand from Simionescu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Simionescu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nice defenses there by Simionescu.

Wu drops Simionescu with a beautiful combination! Simionescu stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Wu is looking for the KO!

Simionescu is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wu ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Simionescu's jaw. Simionescu's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Wu does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Qing Wu!
A relieved looking Qing Wu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
