Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Fitzgerald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samuel Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fitzgerald really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fitzgerald throws a big shot that misses.
Sanchez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sanchez lands a lovely overhand right.
A right-left combo lands from Fitzgerald.
Sanchez misses with a straight right.
No joy there for Fitzgerald, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As Fitzgerald backs off Sanchez throws a huge counter combo but Fitzgerald manages to avoid it all.
Sanchez misses with a hook to the body
and Fitzgerald counters with a stiff right hand.
Fitzgerald misses with a double jab.
Sanchez tries to counter by closing the distance.
Fitzgerald bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Sanchez forces Fitzgerald back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sanchez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fitzgerald gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Sanchez.
Fitzgerald is struggling to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fitzgerald lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Fitzgerald lands a hook that snaps the head of Sanchez backwards.
Sanchez goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Sanchez pulls Fitzgerald into guard.
Fitzgerald content to stall in guard here.

Sanchez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fitzgerald wants to stand but Sanchez is controlling his posture from full guard.

Sanchez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Fitzgerald is fighting to break Sanchez's control of his arms but Sanchez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Fitzgerald stands up from Sanchez's guard - Fitzgerald perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sanchez is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Fitzgerald looks to land a right hand but Sanchez moved out of range.
Sanchez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fitzgerald throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Sanchez to counter with a crisp jab.
Greg Fitzgerald is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fitzgerald misses with a hook
letting Sanchez counter with a right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanchez throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Fitzgerald is rocked!

Fitzgerald throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Oh Fitzgerald is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sanchez misses with an uppercut.
Sanchez throws a lazy right hand but Fitzgerald sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sanchez drops Fitzgerald with a straight right hand, right on the button! Sanchez follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samuel Sanchez!
Greg Fitzgerald spoke after the fight, saying 'Great job, young babby. You got the best of an old man. Keep training hard & maybe you'll be good enough to beat someone in their prime. '.
