Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steven Seagull (ranked 2878 p4p, 2948 weight class) and Yuuji Hoshino (ranked 162 p4p, 167 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Yuuji Hoshino enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Seagull! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Yuuji Hoshino! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoshino lands a jab to Seagull's midsection. Seagull throws a combination that misses and Hoshino counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Seagull is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Seagull takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Hoshino throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. A decent looking body kick lands there for Hoshino. Seagull sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Hoshino thumps Seagull with a low kick. Seagull misses with a right hand and Hoshino counters with a nice leg kick. Steven Seagull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hoshino explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Hoshino connects with an inside leg kick. Hoshino checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Hoshino fails to land with a series of punches.

and Hoshino makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Seagull definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Seagull is breathing heavily. Hoshino thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Seagull if he has to take too many more of those.
Hoshino lands a big head kick that sends Seagull tumbling to the mat! Hoshino takes a step backwards and waves Seagull back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Seagull is rocked!
It looks like Steven Seagull has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Seagull misses the target. Oh Seagull is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Seagull misses with a body punch
and Hoshino makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Seagull misses with an uppercut. Seagull chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hoshino can pounce on him.
Hoshino throws a nice inside leg kick. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Hoshino - that will leave a mark!
Hoshino lands a nice leg kick that just misses Seagull's sensitive parts. Hoshino scoring well with a low kick there.
Yuuji Hoshino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hoshino lands with a right hand. Seagull will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Hoshino scores with a spinning back kick! Hoshino lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

This has been an exciting period of action! A nice leg kick from Hoshino, right into the meat of the thigh.
Seagull throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hoshino counters with a leg kick. Hoshino scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Seagull doesn't seem bothered though. Hoshino scores with a kick to the body.
Seagull takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Hoshino throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Seagull's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Hoshino dives in looking to finish as Seagull flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Hoshino's strikes! Hoshino is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Seagull's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Seagull was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yuuji Hoshino! An out of breath Yuuji Hoshino thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
