Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joseph Hamadou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre De Pain!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hamadou drives through with a takedown into guard.
De Pain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hamadou. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hamadou postures up in De Pain's guard and throws a big left but De Pain blocks it.
Hamadou sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hamadou stands and throws De Pain's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hamadou is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt De Pain will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
De Pain defending against the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Hamadou lands some shots froms side control.
The referee asks Hamadou politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hamadou prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hamadou lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear De Pain down.

Hamadou is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Pain knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hamadou remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
De Pain takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hamadou controls the position.
De Pain on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hamadou controls the position from side control.

Hamadou wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by De Pain, who protects the arm well.
Hamadou takes a little break here. De Pain wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
De Pain pushes Hamadou away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hamadou gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Hamadou is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. De Pain looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hamadou gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. De Pain is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hamadou lets go of the hold and De Pain can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joseph Hamadou!
