This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 22 wins and 18 losses; Sid Murrdock! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 10 losses; Billy Turturro! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Turturro shoots in and drives through. Murrdock sprawls well. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Turturro is defended easily by Murrdock. Murrdock closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Turturro quickly recovers to half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Murrdock (2) vs (0) Turturro Murrdock is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Turturro defends it well. Murrdock keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Murrdock tries to pass the half guard into mount. Turturro knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Murrdock perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turturro slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Murrdock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Turturro is keeping the position for now. Turturro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Murrdock is working hard here to advance position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Turturro looking for a sweep. Not yet Turturro, not yet. Murrdock trying to control the position from guard on top but Turturro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Murrdock looking to pass the guard. Murrdock stands and throws Turturro's legs to the side, diving into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Murrdock (5) vs (0) Turturro Murrdock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Turturro keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murrdock is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Turturro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Murrdock passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Turturro! Score +2 for reaching mount: Murrdock (7) vs (0) Turturro Murrdock looking to take Turturro's back but Turturro rolls and after a scramble, Turturro ends up on top in guard. Nice escape there from Turturro to escape a tricky position. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Murrdock (7) vs (2) Turturro Turturro controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Murrdock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turturro trying to control but Murrdock is working from the bottom. Murrdock pulls Turturro in close to prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murrdock lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Murrdock (9) vs (2) Turturro Turturro keeping moving, preventing Murrdock from controlling successfully. Murrdock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turturro swivels though and keeps the full guard. Turturro controls Murrdock momentarily but Murrdock frees himself.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Turturro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Murrdock manages to get himself to full guard.

Murrdock is pulling down on Turturro's head to control his posture. Turturro tries to free his leg and advance position but Murrdock is retaining full guard. Murrdock is adopting a defensive guard. Murrdock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turturro's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Murrdock (11) vs (4) Turturro

Turturro is keeping the position for now. Murrdock looking to improve position, pressing down on Turturro's thigh with his hand. Turturro seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Murrdock paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Murrdock's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Turturro picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
