The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mugabe stuffs the takedown attempt from Shelby. Shelby gets slowly back to his feet.
Shelby displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mugabe.
Mugabe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shelby but Shelby pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shelby unleashes a big counter combination but Mugabe bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Shelby tries to clinch but Mugabe is having none of it.
Mugabe stuffs the takedown attempt from Shelby. Shelby gets slowly back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shelby motions for Mugabe to come forward. Shelby throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Shelby misses with a body kick.
Mugabe feinted with a counter takedown.
Shelby lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mugabe or perhaps it was just good defense by Shelby, which made it look bad.
Shelby is looking for the big counter here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Mugabe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mugabe blocks a head kick by Shelby.
Mugabe tries to counter with a takedown but Shelby is quick to defend against it.
Shelby tries to clinch but Mugabe is having none of it.
Shelby wants to clinch.

Shelby gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mugabe to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mugabe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Shelby escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mugabe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mugabe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shelby on the ground.

Shelby is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Mugabe frees his head nicely. Oh but Shelby has switched to an armbar! Mugabe is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
