Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kakashi Hataki (ranked 2342 p4p, 3240 weight class) and Floki Magnusson (ranked 240 p4p, 321 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kakashi Hataki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Floki Magnusson! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magnusson tries to move into range but Hataki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Hataki lands with a shot to the body. Hataki lands a nice shot to the body.
Magnusson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hataki just misses with a punch to the body.

Hataki has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Roosters Coop in the buildup to the fight. Hataki lands a nice looking body shot.
Hataki is looking to wear down Magnusson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Nice body punch from Hataki. Magnusson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Magnusson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hataki sprawls well. Hataki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Magnusson gets slowly back to his feet. Hataki cracks Magnusson with an open hand slap. Hataki clinches up with Magnusson and pushes him back against the cage. Hataki prevents the takedown attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hataki lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Hataki manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magnusson looking for a takedown. Kakashi Hataki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Floki Magnusson. Hataki is struggling to control the position. Hataki wants the takedown. Magnusson is fighting it off but Hataki persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Magnusson's guard against the cage. Hataki connects with a couple of short punches. Hataki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hataki postures up in Magnusson's guard and throws a big left but Magnusson blocks it. Hataki is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hataki landing with the ground and pound. Magnusson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hataki is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hataki trying to control the position from guard on top but Magnusson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Magnusson is on top in guard.
Hataki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Magnusson is aware though and is defending well. Magnusson pushing down on Hataki's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Hataki is pressing down on Magnusson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Magnusson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Hataki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Magnusson is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Magnusson wants to control from the top but Hataki keeps moving. Magnusson sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hataki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Magnusson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Magnusson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Magnusson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hataki is looking for a triangle but Magnusson pushes his legs off easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Magnusson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Magnusson working some strikes from top position. Hataki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hataki keeping full guard, as Magnusson tries to pass. Hataki managing to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Magnusson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Magnusson looking to sit in guard and control but Hataki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Magnusson controlling Hataki's posture. Magnusson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hataki is one step ahead there. Magnusson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hataki throws an elbow that misses. Magnusson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hataki's guard. Nice move by Magnusson!
Hataki has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Magnusson doesn't defend quickly enough and Hataki has managed to lock this one up! Can Magnusson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hataki on a fantastic submission victory.
