Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buster Kavanaugh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shamal Davis!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kavanaugh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Davis is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Davis moves into the clinch.
Davis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kavanaugh pulls his leg out and moves away.
Davis has Kavanaugh up against the cage in a clinch.
Kavanaugh tries to circle away but Davis has him pinned against the cage.
Davis pulls Kavanaugh into guard.
Kavanaugh trying to control the position from guard on top but Davis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Davis has his feet on Kavanaugh's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kavanaugh swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Kavanaugh lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kavanaugh pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Davis! But no joy.
Kavanaugh lands a big right hand that sends Davis crashing to the mat! Kavanaugh stays standing though and waves Davis back to his feet!
Davis is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis tries to get into range but Kavanaugh steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Davis! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Kavanaugh scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Buster Kavanaugh!
After the fight, Buster Kavanaugh was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
