Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Paul (ranked 4373 p4p, 5206 weight class) and The Paladin Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 550 weight class). The Paladin Dragon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, The Paladin Dragon!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dragon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Paul!
Dragon controls the position.
It looks like Dragon might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Dragon is continuing to stall.
Let's hope that Dragon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dragon works to advance to full mount. Paul defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Dragon controlling his opponent.
Dragon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Paul wants to try and get back to his feet.
Dragon controlling the pace for now.
Paul tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dragon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
More stalling from Dragon.
Paul tries to hold on but Dragon pushes him away.
Dragon looking to control and managing it successfully.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Dragon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dragon with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The Paladin Dragon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dragon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dragon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Paul gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Dragon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Paladin Dragon has got the better of the ground game so far.

Paul is desperately trying to improve his position but Dragon has a good base and remains in mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dragon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Paul really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dragon looking to control and managing it successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The Paladin Dragon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Paul swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Dragon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Paul's guard.
Dragon controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paul trying to control the position.
Dragon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dragon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yet more stalling tactics from Dragon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dragon prevents Paul from getting back to his feet.
Dragon content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Paul closes the distance but Dragon moves to the side
and Dragon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Jake Paul has been cut.
Dragon throws a series of punches but Paul moves out of range.
Paul wants to clinch.
Paul tries to close the distance and clinch but Dragon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paul tries to clinch but Dragon is having none of it.
Paul looks to throw the jab but Dragon is out of range.
Dragon lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Paul backs up against the cage.
Nice straight punches there by Dragon. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dragon.
Jake Paul is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dragon takes the fight into the clinch.
Paul prevents the takedown attempt.

Dragon is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Paul can't fight it off and eventually Dragon manages to take the fight to the floor. Paul looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Paul could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dragon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Dragon gets to his feet. Paul looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dragon.
Paul tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
I would not like to be Paul right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paul trying to get back to his feet but Dragon is in full control for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dragon just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
The Paladin Dragon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dragon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
